T4N5, also known as T4 PDG, is a DNA glycosylase with dual activity—combining DNA N-glycosylase and AP lyase functions—primarily used in dermatology to repair UV-induced DNA damage.
T4N5 specifically recognizes and cleaves ultraviolet (UV)-induced cyclobutane pyrimidine dimers, initiating the nucleotide excision repair pathway to repair damaged DNA.
T4N5 is primarily used in high-end skincare products (such as anti-photoaging serums and post-procedure repair creams) designed to lower the risk of post-sun-exposure mutations and reduce the incidence of precancerous lesions (such as actinic keratosis).
