Description About Semaglutide
Somaglutide is a long-acting dosage form developed based on the basic structure of liraglutide, which has better effect in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Semaglutide is a long-acting glucagon like peptide 1 (GLP-1) analog, an agonist of GLP-1 receptor, which can stimulate insulin secretion, reduce glucagon secretion, assist diet and exercise, improve blood glucose control in adult type 2 diabetes patients, and has potential therapeutic effects on type 2 diabetes (T2DM).
The latest research shows that somaglutide, which has been approved for weight loss in obese or overweight adults, can also help teenagers lose weight and help heart health.
Somaglutide can reduce fasting and postprandial blood sugar and reduce weight. In June 2021, Somaglutide was approved by FDA for the chronic weight management of ordinary obese or overweight adults with at least one weight-related disease, marking that Somaglutide became the first drug approved for such use since 2014. The application of somaglutide in weight management has also been approved by Health Canada.
